Rich Candy Story

Rich Candy was started 5 years ago.  It is successfully owned by an African American lady that discovered the recipe in her mother’s kitchen one day baking for the holidays. The pralines were so delicious until everyone in her family fell in love with the flavor. At that moment, the lady then opened a business and started to sell the pralines across Louisiana. It was called “Nation’s Pecans”. However, the business started to fail because the pralines were so good that the lady couldn’t produce enough of it. So, she lost hope and took it out of the stores and started selling it only to the community and many of her clients kept commenting that the pralines taste “rich”.  As time went on, she decided to persevere and reopened her candy business back up which then became “Rich Candy”. She decided that Rich Candy was the perfect name for pralines because the taste of her candy was so abundant, meaning the flavor was already at the maximum good amount.
